For HVAC techs, installers and apprentices
Best Sites to Find HVAC Jobs in 2026 (for Techs, Installers and Apprentices)
For HVAC-only listings, start with a trade-only board such as HVAC Hires (free, no account, you apply on the employer's own page) or HVACJobsHQ, and add BlueRecruit if you'd rather build a phone profile and get matched with no resume. Use Indeed and LinkedIn to search beyond trade-only boards, Trade Hounds to compare your pay, and the UA if you want a union apprenticeship.

How did we compare the HVAC job sites?
We looked at the sites an HVAC tech, installer or apprentice would actually use to find the next job, and ranked them by fit for someone who works in HVAC, not by size.
Every fact about another company was read on that company's own website in October 2026; where a site does not publish something, the table says "Not published".
The list mixes three kinds of tool: places that list HVAC jobs (trade-only and general boards), a matching app where employers come to you, and tools that help you check your pay, find an apprenticeship or plan a trade career.
We give no scores or stars, and HVAC Hires, which wrote this page, is one of the options.
Which trade-only HVAC job boards are worth checking?
HVAC Hires lists only HVAC and plumbing jobs, across 29 role categories from HVAC technician jobs and HVAC installer jobs to apprentices, helpers, refrigeration, controls and commercial techs.
Browsing and applying are free and need no account.
When you click Apply you go straight to the employer's own application link, and listings pulled from employer career pages and public job feeds link back to the original posting.
Featured listings at the top of the feed are paid placements and carry a Featured badge.
HVACJobsHQ calls itself "The Only Exclusive HVAC Jobs Marketplace".
It sorts jobs into technician, installer, apprentice and helper, and commercial HVAC categories.
You create a free account to see its positions and set personalized job alerts, and it publishes HVAC salary pages by state and a newsletter.
If you want job alerts tied to an account, HVACJobsHQ offers them; the HVAC Hires fact sheet does not list a job-alert feature.
iHireConstruction covers the skilled construction trades, including HVAC technicians and plumbers.
Its homepage showed HVAC and plumbing roles such as Lead Commercial HVAC Technician, Duct work Mechanic and Mechanical Pipefitter next to other construction jobs, so it suits a tech open to commercial and mechanical work across the building trades.
Is there an app that matches HVAC techs with employers?
BlueRecruit works the other way round from a job board.
You create a profile from your phone, no resume needed, and get matched with companies.
Employers search by skills and certifications and connect with you directly, then interview through built-in messaging and video tools.
It is always free for job seekers.
BlueRecruit charges larger employers instead (plans start at $300/month), and it is free for small businesses.
It is a better fit than a job board if you don't have a resume or don't want to spend evenings scrolling listings.
Before you rely on it, check that HVAC shops in your area use it.
Should HVAC techs still use Indeed and LinkedIn?
Yes, if you want to search beyond trade-only boards.
Indeed offers job seekers tools to search jobs, post a resume and research companies.
It reports 685M job seeker profiles globally (self-reported), counting accounts with a unique, verified email address.
LinkedIn lets you search and apply for jobs and set up to 20 job alerts, delivered daily or weekly by email or app notification.
Neither site publishes on the pages we checked whether job seekers pay, so the table says "Not published".
Where should HVAC apprentices look for jobs?
Start with HVAC apprentice jobs on HVAC Hires, and HVACJobsHQ's apprentice and helper category.
Then decide whether you want a union or a non-union route.
The United Association (UA) represents approximately 412,000 plumbers, pipefitters, sprinkler fitters, HVACR service technicians, welders and pipeliners (self-reported).
It recruits both experienced tradespeople and newcomers starting as apprentices, and promotes wages, training, benefits and a retirement pension.
Our guide to union HVAC apprenticeships explains how they work, and how to get an HVAC apprenticeship covers the steps on any route.
If you are still choosing a trade or a school, SkillPointe takes you through a career-matching quiz, career pages, a training finder and resources such as scholarships and grants.
Its jobs page searches active postings near you and names HVAC technicians among the career paths it supports.
How do I check HVAC pay before I apply?
Trade Hounds is a free app for the skilled trades that lets you compare your pay with others in your region and trade.
It says it has over 450,000 tradespeople (self-reported), and it also has a supply house map, a place to showcase your work and networking with other tradespeople.
Job listings are not among the features its homepage lists.
For the government figures, the HVAC technician salary page shows Bureau of Labor Statistics OEWS pay for SOC 49-9021 (heating, air conditioning and refrigeration mechanics and installers) nationally and by state.
HVACJobsHQ also publishes HVAC salary pages by state.
