How did we compare the sites for plumbing jobs?
We ranked the options by fit for a plumbing contractor posting a plumber job, not by size.
The questions were: does the site cover plumbing roles, does it publish a price, is there a contract, and how do candidates reach you.
Every fact about another company was checked on that company's own website in October 2026.
Where a site does not publish something, the table says "Not published" rather than guessing.
HVAC Hires wrote this page and is one of the options; its facts come from our fact sheet, and it publishes no candidate or reach numbers.
Which job boards are built for plumbing roles?
HVAC Hires is a job board built only for HVAC and plumbing jobs.
Its 29 role categories include plumber, plumbing apprentice, journeyman, master and service plumber, drain technician, pipefitter, pipe welder, steamfitter, sprinkler fitter, gas fitter, backflow tester, plumbing estimator and plumbing inspector.
A Standard listing is $199 and a Featured listing $399 at launch pricing (regular $299 and $499), each a one-time payment for 30 days, live as soon as checkout completes.
Applicants go to your own application link.
There is no free employer tier.
HVACJobsHQ is the HVAC-only board in this space: it calls itself 'The Only Exclusive HVAC Jobs Marketplace', and its role categories are HVAC technician, installer, apprentice and helper, and commercial HVAC.
We found no plumbing category at our check, so it fits your HVAC openings, not a plumber job.
iHireConstruction is iHire's construction board.
Its homepage listed Licensed Plumber, Journeyman Plumber and Commercial Plumber openings next to HVAC and other construction jobs, and iHire says it runs 57 industry-specific talent communities (self-reported).
You buy Job Slots and swap jobs in and out, with no long-term commitment.
BlueRecruit calls itself a job platform built for the trades.
You search tradespeople by verified experience and certifications and reach out directly, with no resumes or job posts required.
It is free for job seekers and small businesses; plans for larger businesses start at $300 a month.
Where do general job sites fit for plumbing hiring?
Indeed is the free starting point: many jobs can be posted for free, subject to Indeed's terms, conditions, quality standards and usage limits.
Sponsoring a post moves you to billing on job seeker interactions, such as clicks or started applications.
ZipRecruiter gives new employers a free trial; you pay only if you keep the post active after the trial ends.
It says it distributes a job post to 100+ job sites and invites qualified candidates to apply (self-reported).
LinkedIn Jobs promoted posts are pay-per-click: you pay only for clicks in the country where the job is posted, and never more than your daily or total budget.
Craigslist charges $10-75 per job posting in the US and parts of Canada, varying by area.
For one local opening, that small flat fee can be enough.
Should you post with the PHCC job board or the UA?
Two more routes come from the plumbing trade itself.
PHCC (Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors) runs a job board where candidates search listings and organizations post job openings.
Its landing page shows no posting price and no membership requirement, so ask PHCC before you post.
The United Association (UA) says it represents approximately 412,000 plumbers, pipefitters, sprinkler fitters, HVACR service technicians, welders and pipeliners in North America's construction industry (self-reported).
We found no job-posting terms or prices on the UA homepage we checked.
If you are a union-signatory shop, or weighing it, our guide to hiring through the union hall covers how that works.
What does it cost to post a plumber job on each site?
Published prices, as of October 2026:
- HVAC Hires: $199 Standard or $399 Featured per 30-day listing at launch pricing, one-time; $899 or $1,749 a month for 10 or 25 live listings, arranged by contacting HVAC Hires (pricing).
- iHireConstruction: $369 a month for 1 Job Slot ($316 a month billed quarterly), $450 a month for 3 and $799 a month for 10.
- BlueRecruit: free for small businesses; plans from $300 a month for larger businesses and growing teams.
- Craigslist: $10-75 per job posting, varying by area.
- Indeed: free organic posts subject to usage limits; Sponsored Jobs billed on clicks or started applications.
- LinkedIn Jobs: promoted posts are pay-per-click, capped by your daily or total budget.
- ZipRecruiter: a free trial for new employers; no price in the ZipRecruiter pages we checked.
- PHCC job board: not published on its landing page.
The flat-fee options put a number in front of you before you spend.
The per-click and sponsored options tie the bill to candidate activity rather than a fixed price.
How should a plumbing contractor choose where to post?
Start from the opening.
A plumber, service plumber or apprentice job suits a board that lists plumbing roles.
A union shop can start with its UA local, and any contractor can look at PHCC's job board.
Then decide how you want to pay: a flat fee you know upfront (HVAC Hires, Craigslist, iHireConstruction's slots), a free post with optional sponsorship billed on clicks or started applications (Indeed), or promoted posts billed per click within your budget (LinkedIn).
A listing is not a promise of a hire: HVAC Hires, for one, does not guarantee that a listing will result in one, so test one board with a real opening first.
A clear ad matters on any of them: start from our plumber job description template.
